Great traing and good ppl. Would recommend it to anyone!!Posted on Robert WittenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I went to the grand opening of the new location on Breckenridge Ln because I know a guy who used to train there and he spoke highly of it. Its a great facility and there are a lot of students there. They offer a free class, so with some misgivings (I'm an older guy, in my late 50s) I showed up for the class for "Fundamentals of Muay Thai". I was pretty clumsy, but some of the other students there gave me some help with hand positioning and things. There ARE some guys there who ARE ABOUT IT, for sure! I'm used to going to bodybuilding types of gyms, where you do a set and maybe let your mind wander. Thats not how things are done here, lol! You have to keep focus. And when the Muay Thai Teacher had us all punch the punching bags with the combination that we learned that day, I was hooked! All kinds of people in that room, and we were bringing the fire! There is an energy in this place thats hard to describe. But if you are thinking about looking into it, I hope that you do, because, oh man! GOOD TIMES! I'm still new at this, but I signed up and I intend to keep trying to learn it and practice. The teachers are awesome and SO ARE THE STUDENTS. I didn't think that groups of people like this existed anymore. I'm so glad that I was wrong. And don't be afraid of stepping outside of your comfort zone and learning something new and striving to progress. And this gym here is the place to do it. Boxing, BJJ, wrestling, and my own choice, Muay Thai Boxing! And, oh, the weight room facilities that they have there are more than adequate - better than most silver era weight rooms would have. Benches, cables, fly station, GHR, captain's chair, hack squat, and more. There's even turf there.Posted on Devin GossumTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Best Martial Arts gym in the Louisville area. Amazing coaches, the training is real, and the people feel like family. Whether it’s striking, grappling, or conditioning, the training is top notch and tailored to all levels. Couldn’t recommend it more.Posted on The Defective ThobeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The gym feels like a family. I have been training there for about 5 months and everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. It's also 100% the best gym in the region to get good at combat sports! -Sam

What is Wrestling?
Wrestling is a combat sport that involves grappling techniques, including clinch fighting, throws, takedowns, joint locks, pins, and other grappling holds. The objective in wrestling is to gain and maintain a dominant position over an opponent, often with the goal of pinning their shoulders to the mat, which is a winning condition in many styles. Wrestling is one of the oldest forms of physical competition, with its origins tracing back to ancient civilizations.
There are various styles of wrestling, each with its unique rules and techniques. The most recognized forms globally are Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling, both featured in the Olympic Games. Greco-Roman wrestling prohibits holds below the waist, emphasizing upper body strength and technique, while Freestyle wrestling allows the use of the legs in both offense and defense.
Wrestling is not only a competitive sport but also a method of physical training and a foundational skill for other martial arts and combat sports. It is highly valued for its ability to develop strength, endurance, agility, and discipline. Wrestlers learn to understand leverage, balance, and the mechanics of body movement, making it a comprehensive discipline for physical and mental development.
